Beware!

No U.S. government or agency generally accepted agency "grades" or "certifies" essential oils as "therapeutic grade," "medicinal grade," or "aromatherapy grade." In fact, the United States has no formally approved essential oil grading standard. Yet, you see every essential oil independent consultant claiming their "therapeutic grade" oil has the "highest quality" and that you should trust them because they have "done research." Generally the research they are referring to is one hour class when they joined the oil company taught by someone whom only education in oils is also a one hour class.

One more time for the people in the back, THE FDA APPROVES OF NO ESSENTIAL OIL and THE UNITED STATES HAS NO FORMAL ESSENTIAL OIL GRADING SYSTEM. The term "therapeutic grade" was actually coined by a multilevel marketing company. Why would I be telling you this? Two reasons, one because my oils are manufactured and distributed outside the U.S. almost every other country does have essential oil guidelines. Secondly, the research I've done in essential oils have ended in a massage license and certification in essential oils.
To end, I would like to point out that not all companies have malicious intent when using these terms but you should be aware of where the terms come from.
